I would like to see some of my faborite fighters go for the title. But honestly, it is only fair for Cain and Carwin to go at it. That was supposed to be the #1 Contender fight anyway so why not have them fight for the interim. In reality, all the interim championship belt really means is that the holder is the #1 contender when the champion returns.
