You know, regardless of what you think of Shields, this statement is completely true. GSP has beaten Kos, Hughes, Serra, Penn, Alves, Fitch, Mayhem, Karo, Sherk, and Jay Hieron. He has cleared out the top ten aside from Shields (not all of those guys are top ten now, but they all were at one point). Shields is a legit top ten who has faced and beaten much better competition then Hardy or Swick have faced. Whether or not he is better then all of the dudes GSP has already wrecked is up for debate, but he is definetely the best welterweight that GSP hasnt already walked through.
