hello all, i have been trolling this site and reading/learning for the past week or so. Recently i have been knocking around the idea of joining a kickboxing/muy thai school. I searched this site to try and find the differences between the two, from what i found was basically that kickboxing is the americanized version of muy thai that doesn't use knees or elbows. Is this the major/only difference between the two?
I have never studied/trained any form of martial arts and i will be turning 25 this march i know stretching/flexibility will be an issue, what other issues will i run into?

I take Western kickboxing once a week at the dojo where I also train MMA and karate, and we do throw knees and elbows.
