Dude are you dumb that means he did weight training. He did plenty of weight training he is good now he doesn't have to do it.the regular exercises maintain his strength. It is better to get a good strength base atleast before if not while you're doing mma.But of course it is not necessary neither is being good at it but you want to right?
No. I'm not dumb. Are you? He weight trained ten years ago! That's not the same as weight training as a mixed martial artist. If he was consistent with the heavy weight training he did, then you could make the argument that weight's are a big part of his game. But they are not.
Strength is important of course, but Fedor remains strong and he doesn't weight train like he used to.
There is the counter-argument. Are weights necessary while training as a mixed martial artist?
In fact, there is a long list of mixed martial artists who don't train with weights, and perhaps an even longer list of those who do so incorrectly, training like bodybuilders for example.
Look at Anderson Silva, you think he has ever benched or squatted high numbers?
Talent is much more important than weight training.
