No. I'm not dumb. Are you? He weight trained ten years ago! That's not the same as weight training as a mixed martial artist. If he was consistent with the heavy weight training he did, then you could make the argument that weight's are a big part of his game. But they are not.
Strength is important of course, but Fedor remains strong and he doesn't weight train like he used to.
There is the counter-argument. Are weights necessary while training as a mixed martial artist?
In fact, there is a long list of mixed martial artists who don't train with weights, and perhaps an even longer list of those who do so incorrectly, training like bodybuilders for example.
Look at Anderson Silva, you think he has ever benched or squatted high numbers?
Talent is much more important than weight training.
