I don't think lifting weights will do anything for your six pack but for general fitness/muscle building they are ofcourse excellent, lots of running to lose the fat around the stomach and lots n lots of crunches to tone the abs is the best way o go for a 6-pack. Crunches alone won't do, could be totally ripped but if there is fat in the way you won't see it
