No experience with the five fingers, but I perform all my deadlift, squats, snatches, and cleans barefoot. Would not ever run barefoot regardless of the evidence it is better for you, I've injured my feet to much already.
I dont know if lifting barefoot is actually better, but it was how I was taught to do it.
