Round 1: Modafferi connecting with punches early on, until LaRosa ties up against the fence and works for a takedown with over-unders. Roxy defending well, but LaRosa trips her down eventually. Back to the feet, they disengage and LaRosa staggers Modafferi with a big right hand. Modafferi grinning at her opponent right before she tags LaRosa and jumps into mount. 10-9 Modafferi.

Round 2: Modafferi puts LaRosa on her back early, but can't do much with the position. Back on the feet, Modafferi working leg kicks and combinations. With a minute left in the frame, LaRosa explodes and charges Modafferi with haymakers that back the Mass. native into the fence. LaRosa scores a late takedown but can't advance past half guard. 10-9 LaRosa.

Round 3: LaRosa puts Modafferi down and muscles her against the fence. Short-distance ground and pound not working for LaRosa, so she tries to posture up, but Modafferi uses her lanky limbs to grab a loose triangle. Modafferi switches to an armbar, but with her back to the cage, she can't finish. Takedown attempt ends with both women on the mat with 90 seconds left. Modafferi on LaRosa's back, but not entirely so, and LaRosa's able to stand. She tries to jump on Modafferi's back for a standing RNC with seconds left, but it's too late. Really tough round to call. 10-9 Modafferi.
