sup people, im new to the forums but not new to MMA, ive been taking BJJ for about 2 years now. OK so here it goes i wanna work out my biceps, workout my shoulders, neck, and triceps. basically all upper body. Anyone have any advice or types of workouts i can do. so far i curl, bench press, push ups, sit-ups, military bench press, and a tricep workout where i take a dumbell hold it above my head and then bring it down behind my head and keep repaeting. this is going good but i wanna get stronger the thing is for some reason i cant move up in weights on the dumbells. its like i can do them fine but when it comes time to adding more weight i just cant do as many, is there something wrong with me? or is this normal. plz someone help thx!
first off..do you want to be stronger as a bodybuilder or as a fighter? If you want more fight strength pick up a sandbag somewhat like a "clean" and do basketball passes with it. That one exercise is better than all the others you just mentioned.
Hey all of those muscles are good to work out for fighting accept for your biceps. Just becuase the fact that if you do a lift that concetrates primaraly on your biceps (like curling) it will shorten your reach. instead work all of those other muscles that you said and you will use your biceps enough to strengthen them but not shorten your reach.
