well i didnt buy mine new, but its been smooth using. the only jamming problems ive ever seen or heard from a glock 23 are a soft recoil spring, magazine issue (worn spring as well causing jamming issues via loading rounds) and ive heard if you "limp wrist" the gun it can happen etc. as for ammo any hollow point from 155-180 grain, made by a major manufacturer will do. Winchester Ranger SXT, Federal HST or Hydra-Shok, and Remington Golden Sabres are some of the top choices.
Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) ammo is for target shooting. Winchester, Remington, Magtech, it really doesn't matter for the most part.
