I thought the same when I didn't own a console/try a FPS game. I thought how the hell you can play a shooter with a joystick, when, say, on the PC everything can turn against you in miliseconds, if you don't move your mouse fast enough. But as it turned out, fps console gaming is a lot of fun when you get used to the controls.
