I can't tell from the picture, because I'm fairly new to grappling. Could you please elaborate?
Typically in an armbar he would have both of his legs over me. One on my head and the other under my armpit and across my upper back. He has one on my head, and then the other is weaved under my throat. Typically the last ditch effort for escaping an armbar from guard is to stack them up on their neck, make it really uncomfortable, then start shaking the arm free...but with the leg under my throat, he could use his leg to help resist the stack, and even make it more uncomfortable for me because the more I would put pressure down on him, the harder I'd get a foot pushed into my throat.
