Alistair Overeem guinness book of world records

Mixed Martial Arts and the entire Fight Game witnesses Alistair Overeem enter the Guinness Book of World Record's with his 3rd Major world Championship belt in 2010.

NYE is a Tradition full of excitement, flashing lights, ruckus crowds and fireworks Dream's "Dynamite! Power of Courage 2010" delivered just that...and then some. In front of a sold out Saitama Super Arena in Saitama Japan, which saw 3 world titles up for grabs, 14 fights (11MMA, 2 K-1 and a special rule fight), and after an impressive pre-fight pop culture extravaganza, the fight action never lulled. Highlighting the night with the only 2 knockout finishes were Golden Glory teammates and sparring partners Sergey Karitanov and Alistair Oveeem whom also had the nights 2 fastest bouts, one of which saw Alistair enter the Guinness Book of World records with his 3rd Major Fighting Chamionships in one calendar year.

Karitanov, a former Russian ParaTrooper turned Pride and K-1 standout entered the MMA ring after a 2 year absence and took less than 90 seconds to end the fight in his successful return to MMA. Kharitonov's oppenent spent more time unconscious after the fight than he did on his feet competing. The Russian out of the prestigious Dutch Camp Golden Glory slyly stalked his prey, quickly landed a devistating knee that sent the Japanese fan favorite Tatsuya Mizuno crashing to the canvas, ending his night abruptly and boosting the triumphant Russian's return to the MMA world.

The Japanese crowd became deafening the moment StrikeForce Heavyweight and K-1 Grand Prix Champion Alistair Overeem walked out. Standing on the catwalk the Herculean figure smiled with fist clenched and hand raised high sending the standing room only into a frenzy. Making his Iconic appeal in Japan even greater and action-figure like. Alistair and his team confidently pounced down the catwalk prepared for battle. This battle took just 19 seconds to conquer. Fighting against highly touted and former UFC up and comer Todd Duffee, who's pre-fight interview heard Duffee comment on how many fighters fear Overeem and stated "but he is just a man". On this night Duffee and the rest of the world found out that Overeem is not just a man, but that he is just simply..."The Man". Without a doubt we just witnessed the greatest Combat Warrior alive.
