If I get a bit more saved, and can't find a decent type R, or a really clean GSR, then I am going to go look for an RSX type S.
I'd say any option you mentioned is a viable one
I'd say go newer and find out the entire history of the car (knowing full well most young guys mod the heck out of them) and usually beat on them regularly and consistently.
The Type S is a nice car, but it doesn't have that 'X' factor the Type R has....
It's a combination of weight savings, laser sharp sterring response, gearing and high hp/litre that make the Type R feel special and posses cheetah like reflexes on the track!
