"Michael Bisping is very impressive," said Silva. "He's been in the UFC for a long time now and beaten some very good fighters. It would be an honour to fight him, perhaps in England. He is fast, is very busy and makes adjustments quickly. I am the champion of the world, not just Brazil or America. Being a world champion means taking on the best fighters from around the world all over the world."
Michael Bisping took to his Twitter account to respond to Silva's comments, stating that he hoped to face the champion down the road.
"About Anderson's comments, it's nice to hear nice things from the best in the world," Bisping wrote. "Hopefully soon I will earn the honour of fighting him."
You know what's funny. I've always thought that would be an entertaining fight. Emphasis on entertaining.
It's gonna be a stand up battle and that's the type of show Anderson wants to put on. All of his CAGE RAGE shows in the UK ended in impressive fashion or were exciting fights.
- Tony Fryklund
- Jorge Rivera (Interesting timing for Anderson to make those comments. Think he's boosting up Bisping's confidence.)
- Lee Murray
exactly, and i dont blame Bisping for wanting to fight for the belt/have a chance to beat the best in the world.
But this will in no doubt in my mind be a Anderson/Forrest type of fight, where we start to wonder, does Forrest really suck? Or is Anderson just not human???
Well lets see, Forrest got to the belt by beating Shogun, and took the belt from Rampage... Ok its not that.... Yikes someone check Andersons DNA!
Styles do definitely make fights and stylistically this match up if it ever happened could be good for Bisping on paper.
Bispings biggest flaw is backing straight up against guys who wing in but he has clearly been working on that and Silva doesn't wade in with bombs anyway.
If he could keep some kind of range, move in and out and throw in a take down attempt here and there to keep Silva thinking, I could see how he could pull off a win.
Realistically though, Silva is technically as good or better at throwing strikes, is just as fast, has more power and a better kick repertoire, he's also devastating in the clinch......
Alan Belcher would have been another interesting fight. A guy who can take damage.
Anderson seems to turn it on in the UK though whenever he fights. There hasn't been one bad fight out there. Along with the other three fights he had there was also the Curtis Stout fight. Three out of the four fights in the Cage Rage org ended in KO/TKO. Must be the fans...
Honestly Bispings best bet in this fight is take downs, take downs, take downs. If he does ever get this match up, thats what his entire game plan should be. Wrestling and take downs.
come on people Bisping is teir 2 mid 3 nowhere near contention to take Silvas belt or for worse win and defend , some fighters are there just for matchups and he is one of them, Hendo KOed him even tho he knew to not turn into hendos strong hand he did it countless of times and paid the price being on a ko reel , and Silva and his name get tossed together please Silva is more technique then Hendo soo outcome would just be another fighter hitting a brick wall formatably known as the SPIDER lol
Actually I think Anderson knows it'll be an entertaining fight. Every single one of his UK fights in Cage Rage were wicked from Jorge Riviera, Tony Fryklund, Curtis Stout, and of course with Lee Murray. Two TKOs, One KO, and one UD. He enjoys the crowds + fans and must have respect for their fighters. I actually wanted Bisping to win against Hendo somewhat just to see that matchup since we've already seen Hendo lose the first time. But that KO wasn't too bad either. Bisping has made a comeback since. I'm probably one of the few proponents of Bisping. I'm not a fan, but I don't think he's as bad as everyone says he is...lolz!
I'd like to see this. The Brits deserve to get a title match on their turf, and Bisping is arguably their most popular fighter. Business-wise, I can see this happening if things play out as necessary (read: Bisping doesn't lay an egg against Rivera; Silva handles Belfort).
'Course most would be ruling out Bisping ahead of the match, but the build up and anticipation would probably be pretty hype. And with a frenetic hometown behind him, maybe Bisping could pull off an upset.

Im sure you would like to see it but what has Mike done to deserve a shot?? Nothing really and he has not beaten a guy who's name he can kind of hang his hat on, Im sure the Brits would love that fight, especially on their soil, but it isnt in the future...
