A lot of people are trying to help this young man, but outside of Ironman and Northcoastmma almost 100% of the advice in this thread is assumption and incorrect.

Not to be repetitive, but to prove the point, as Northcoastmma pointed out H.S. wrestling is NOT Greco Roman; it is called folkstyle. There are major differences between the two.

Ironman gave great advice when he said that if you want to wrestle, learn wrestling. Don't prepare for it with BJJ. They are very different. There are great wrestling camps and clubs during the off season and tournaments to enter. An entire off season devoted to these activities will have you miles ahead of your peers when the season rolls around.

If your ultimate goal is to be an MMA competitor, then mixing in BJJ as well as any other discipline: Judo, boxing, wrestling etc. will help tremendously.

If the goal is to be the best HS wrestler possible - listen to Ironman: Learn wrestling.
