Hawn decision winner:
Quote:
Round 1 - Hawn brings it immediately, throwning wild strikes and driving Wallhead back into the cage. They trade some vicious strikes and kicks for a bit. Hawn's movement and aggression are much better than Wallhead's so far. Wallhead lands a few good shots, but Hawn keeps throwing good combos. Wallhead is looking like the rookie in this round. End of the round, I give it to Hawn 10-9.
Round 2 - They're trading strikes, Wallhead catches Hawn with a leg kick and almost knocks him down. Again Hawn is throwing more and better combos. They continue to trade, Wallhead finally goes for a takedown but can't get it. Wallhead clinches Hawn against the cage then lets it go. End of the round, again I have it 10-9 Hawn.
Round 3 - More boxing. Hawn has slowed down a bit, and Wallhead seems to be a little more active now. Wallhead looks to be cut. Hawn gets a takedown, Wallhead doing a good job of keeping him tied up. They're back on their feet, and Hawn continues to out-strike Wallhead. End of the round. 10-9 Hawn again. But who knows what the judges saw?
Rick Hawn def. Jim Wallhead by unanimous decision: 29-28, 29-28, 30-27
