He does actually throw out some judo. He says he learned it watching youtube.

But he also did Greco-Roman wrestling, as well as folkstyle. And in Greco-Roman, you can't trip a guy or grab his legs. I think Folkstyle is better for transitioning to MMA (and I like watching it more) but Greco does have some crazy throws.

Though when transitioning to MMA, you don't see too many guys do sweet throws very often. And guys like Couture, Henderson and Lindland competed in Greco-Roman at a very high level.
