It is an awesome caster trinket. Actually when I was looking up what gear to really shoot for, on most lists, that was the top trinket for a Mage to have. Only problem is that it takes a lot to make it so it goes for around 10-12k gold.
It wouldn't help you because you are a Paladin and rely a lot on Melee. I am a pure caster. I never use weapon for attacking. Purely for the stats.
