Yeah MMA isn't a sport that leads itself well to alcohol, one boring fight and you could pass out. For me it's all about small meals at different points, start off with some hotwings or ribs maybe a burger 2 hours later some popcorn finish it up with icecream for the main event.
Sugar/Carbs/Meats keeps you on edge and then when you finish eating you have your sugar crash and fall asleep.
The trick is timing the preparation for food. I went to get my pizza out of the oven and missed Jeremy Stephens demolishing Marcus Davis.
