The main event for BAMMA 7 is set with middleweight champion Tom “Kong” Watson facing Frank Trigg on Sept. 10 with the belt on the line.
Frank Trigg made his British MMA debut in May with a very impressive win over tough middleweight slugger John Phillips, slicing the Welshman open with vicious elbows inside the first round of their encounter.
He will once again grace British shores to challenge Tom “Kong” Watson for the BAMMA middleweight title.
For Watson, it marks an interesting stylistic change over previous opponent Murilo “Ninja” Rua, who he scored a brilliant knockout victory over in his last outing.
Trigg’s credentials as a wrestler are well known and are usually a spoiler for a more striking orientated fighter such as the Team Jackson’s protégé.
The bout marks the third title defense for Watson, who picked up the strap last year with a win over Legends MMA fighter Matt Horwich.
Villasenor is like Trigg, they can both fight at WW or MW. I think Villasenor's fight on the card is at welterweight. Also Trigg fought for BAMMA last month, and he's generally a bigger draw than Villasenor.
Its shaping up to be a really good card, the main card is quality, the best BAMMA card so far i think.
Villasenor v Mills should be a quality scrap, I dont get why they dont make that their WW title fight. Escudero v Ratcliffe should be a close fight, Ratcliffe is a tough dude. Sinclair defending his LW title against Santos. And Petrescu v Ewin sahould be good too.
