How the fight went...
Round 1 - Referee Rob Hinds in charge of the evening's bantamweight opener. Figueroa takes the center and paws his jab as Reinhardt circles on the outside. Reinhardt feigns a few takedown attempts but stays away. Boo birds out less than a minute in. Reinhardt circling away, and he claps, waves Figueroa in and then puts his hands by his side. Figueroa has a high kick blocked, but a straight right sees Reinhardt on the deck. He works back up as Figueroa charges in and latches onto a guillotine. Choke looks tight, but Reinhardt powers through it, scores a takedown, works out of the choke and slides around to the back. Slick transition. Both hooks in, and Figueroa struggles to turn into the position. He finally does and then stands. A few shots hit the body before Figueroa backs away. Reinhardt looks tired on the restart, and he gets popped while attempting a telegraphed shot. Figueroa lands a few more punches and scores a takedown. He then stands and delivers big shots from his feet. Reinhardt bucks and rolls as he tries to defend, but Figueroa just blasts away. Int he closing seconds, Figueroa backs away to reset, and Reinhardt is slow to rise before the bell sounds. It's all Figueroa, 10-9 on the MMAjunkie.com card.
Round 2 - Reinhardt slow to get off his stool to answer the bell. He looks ripe to be finished.Figueroa defends an early shot, and he just misses a knee to the haad on a second takedown. Reinhardt keeps pressing in, but Figueroa moves to mount. He unleashed ground and pound shots as Reinhardt covers, and Hinds has now choice but to call it.
