Alright, sorry about being a noob.
So, I've been training in martial arts for about 11 years, but only 5 have been serious. In the past 3-4 years I've moved my training more to a mixed martial art style in that I practice hard and only use techniques that work in a fight (striking, submissions, blah blah blah). The place I go to is technically a karate place, but being a ranking black belt, I sort of control what myself and other people of my rank work on, which is mostly fighting technique and sparring (hard). When I spar/fight and train I enjoy myself, whether or not I'm successful. The problem is I'm seriously starting to ache for real fights. I'm almost to the point of desperation. I'm going to school to become a doctor, but I'd gladly give it up if it meant I could fight every weekend. There are two things in my way, 1) I'm afraid to ask my teacher to take me seriously and get me into it because he's very self defense orientated, 2) I have no idea how to really get involved in the world of fighting.

I guess what I'm asking is where do I begin? How do I find/get into a fight? What do I have to do?
