I said quite a while ago that TUF needed serious overhauling because there are no real prospects left that no one knows aboout. Not to mention TUF is pretty much for drama not talent anymore.

I started a thread with a few ideas I had. They actually are going to have live fights now, which is cool, but here is what it said.

Changes to TUF
Obviously TUF needs some work. Does anyone think that the UFC should stop wasting money on guys, 90% of whom will probably do nothing in the sport or even crack the top 5?

Throwing this out there....why not change TUF to a already UFC prospects show. Think basically a tournament for a title shot(i.e TUF 4) or at least a way to clean out some of the muck at the lower end of the roster.

Think about it, better fights, possibly bigger names and then you tip the odds that the winner will actually make some noise in the UFC and sell PPVs, which is the ultimate goal.

Think about what something like that could do for the logjam at the top of the LW division right now.
Also this would be a great way to introduce fighters to casual fans. Think about what a guy like Phil Davis would do on a TV show like that, people would love him. His notoriety goes up, sales go up. You no longer have to try to figure out a good way to sell a talented prospect to the mainstream audience. If they watch him for 12 weeks on TV and they like him, chances are they'll buy the PPV. It's just taking the "coaches fighting" concept and multiplying it by 16.
