I agree, in a lot of ways describing yourself as agnostic is a "cop out" and rather vague. I was just trying to make the point that some (not all) of those that label themselves Atheist often confuse Atheism with Agnosticism. I will admit that I am not schooled in philosophy to make any real contributions here though I admit the subject matter does interest me (might pick up some of the authors you mentioned). Excellent thread though you made some good points.
