Check Youtube. There's on poster on there who has some old but good videos regarding how your feet and hips should move during kicks. Few pointers: step out at a 45 degree angle so your shin comes in parallel to the opponent's chest; pivot on your standing foot for max. power; pull the leg all the way back into fight stance after each and every kick; keep your hands up.
