The truth is that you can't compare the two. Traditional Martial Arts is often not for the sake of competitive sparring. Some martial arts were first created as a means of exercise, military warfare, or had to be developed in secrecy. The fact, however, remains that most have given aid to the rise of mixed martial arts.
Some more facts that cause comparison to be mute are that mixed martial arts is still bound by rules and regulations, where as traditional martial arts is in a real world life or death scenario. Another term that needs to be up for review is Wing Chun master, often the term master is thrown around loosely.
