Round 1 - Yves Lavigne is the man in the middle. Pearson opens with an outside leg kick and takes the middle. Lots of tattoos in there. Pearson with a flying knee to the midsection. Swanson throws a spinning fist that isn't on the mark. Then he ducks out of a jab. They trade kick feints. Pearson uppercut just misses. Swanson throws a hook, but Pearson ducks nicely under, breezes in and picks him up for a slam. Against the cage, Swanson gets back up fairly quickly and lands a pair of knees before they go back to boxing. Swanson escapes an uppercut and a high kick, then lands a right hand that knocks Pearson backward. He can't capitalize, though. With two minute sleft, there's a fun little scramble and no one seems too clear about what's going on, other than Swanson's trying to drill some upkicks and Pearson's trying to get back down to punch. Both guys survive a few good shots there and we go back to the feet. Pearson moves in for a single, but can't get it with 30 seconds left. Pearson lands a nice jab, then backs Swanson up with a kick. Then a left hand and a nice body kick close out the frame for Pearson. It's a fun first round and a close one, but MMAjunkie.com will lean slightly toward Pearson, 10-9.
Round 2 - They'll come out swinging again. Both hands and feet. They trade jabs. Swanson comes forward with some big ones, and just misses an acrobatic kick over the top. Pearson then ires back and just misses. They hit the turf for a short spell, but are quickly back up. They again trade jabs. Pearson is a little bloodied up. But Pearson gets off a few good shots of his own still. They're both staying in the pocket trading. Swanson jumps in the air with both feet and tries to throw a knee. The crowd likes it, but it gets him nothing but trouble and a spot on his back with Pearson trying to work some offense from Swanson's guard. Swanson is trying to upkick when Pearson goes to his feet. But Pearson goes back to the ground and works out of half-guard briefly. They go back to their feet with a minute left and out of nowhere Swanson lands a left hook right on the chin that drops Pearson. A couple shots on the ground are just elementary, as Pearson was done.
