The bat scores points for reach advantage and in the hands of someone skilled could be used to disarm the knife, however at the same time, you hit someone with the bat, they block with the arm, you have to draw back to swing and in that short time frame you have a knife in you, repeatedly, so I'd go with the knife, hands down unless you know some form of martial arts to defend yourself. A nice front kick to the chest to push them back then a rush attack with the bat aimed for the head or armed hand could result in a victory.
