Belcher doesn't need to move over to Strikeforce or fight Rockhold or Jacare either, the Middleweight division is pretty simple, Anderson, Weidman, Lombard/Boestch winner, and Vitor all need fights, my guess is if Lombard wins, we see Weidman/Belcher for a title shot, if Boestch wins, we see Boestch vs. Belcher.
I think Vitor is fairly one dimensional, Bisping is a can crusher, Silva and Belcher aren't valid for this discussion, he can't fight himself and his goal is a title. Sonnen and Okami are fairly standard wrestlers. Mark Munoz....might fall out of the top ten, likely will with another loss. And Lombard is a so called can crusher. Only Tim Boetsch and Chris Weidman might be considered multidimensional fighters who have beaten top contenders.

As for your synopsis it's predicated on several things mostly that Belfort and Bisping aren't in the title mix ahead of Belcher. Most seem to think that they are. Lombard and Weidman are in the mix the one that doesn't fight Anderson will fight a title eliminator with first preference going to Bisping, second to Belfort, third to Stann, and Belcher is fourth in line.

Alan Belcher doesn't need to jump over the Strikeforce he may be able to move up from this log jam at 185. But if he does jump over he gets to face Rockhold for the title and when Strikeforce folds he'll get a title merge. I think Rockhold is a better matchup for him than Belfort/Bisping as they are similar styled fighters and Belcher has much more seasoning.
