Should probably leave the teaching to the teachers. If you have no experience you could easily make things more confusing accidentally.

If you really want to get hands on with your child get yourself in class and learn the ropes, that's what I did and it helped me be confident that what I was teaching my girls was what they are working on at the dojo and correct.
