Seems to be a trend, a lot of servers closing down these days.

On the flip side that's one reason PC games are superior, private servers are nice even though they are a tad spendy.

When i played americas army our clan had 2 private servers that cost us 120.00 each a month, sounds like a lot but it worked out to about two bucks a month per member and they kicked us a TS service and a ton of bandwidth.

The future of on line games like this IMO will be licensing of private servers and competing for players.

Our server got popular and our website followed the server so we added some advertisement and viola we cut the overhead in half.
