Round 1 - Referee Mario Yamasaki in the cage. The much-taller Moraes stays at distance early. Forte holding the center, but he's not engaging. Moraes gesturing a bit wildly with his arms to open, but he drives in for a takedown shortly after. Forte climbs back to his feet, but Moraes keeps a tight bodylock. Moraes lets it go to look for a leg, but Forte defends well, and they break apart. Moraes scores an outside trip, but Forte again pops right back up. Moraes drags him down again as the almost faceplant, but Moraes switches to top position. Moraes tries for a leaping transition to the back, but Forte feels it and pulls away. Forte still a little slow to engage on the feet. He has a high kick blocked. Moraes holds his hands wide after each striking exchange, and the crowd doesn't seem to be feeling his antics. Still, he lands a wide hook in the closing seconds, and gives him the round, 10-9.

Round 2 - Moraes with a wide stance to open, and he's looking to throw. Forte pressing, as well. Pace is picking up a bit, and bot are winging shots in the pocket. Moraes fakes a few kicks and returns to the sweeping-hands move. Moraes drops in on a single leg and pushes Forte to the cage. Takedown for the jiu-jitsu ace. Forte scrambles to his butt. As he stands, Moraes tries to grab the neck. Not there. Two minutes in. Not a fast pace thus far. Moraes misses another takedown. Crowd wants the action to pick up, and they boo the two Brazilians. Forte is so much shorter that he's having trouble reaching his opponent. Into the clinch with a pair of knee coming in from Moraes. He moves the action to the cage. Yamasaki watching closely as they operate against the cage, and he breaks them when there's no progression. Final minute. Forte finally lands clean, and he catches Moraes attention before pushing him to the floor. But he doesn't want to move into his opponent's guard, so he lets the round end while he hovers over is foe. Crowd boos again at the close. Despite the late success for Forte, sees the round for Moraes, 10-9.

Round 3 - Forte's corner wants his fighter to pick up the pace. He does, but he has to attack from distance. Moraes lands one clean right hand and just misses on a second. Forte pushes in with a few punches up the middle, but as soon as Moraes creates a scramble, he slips quickly to the back. Figure-four legs around a standing Forte. Moraes trying to sink in a choke. Forte leans against the cage to relive a little of the pressure. Moraes can't get the right hands under the neck, but he squeezes hard on the chine. Forte tries to drive forward to get his opponent off the hold. He can't, and the tap comes in. A thrilled Moraes gives his opponent a kiss on the cheek. Sergio Moraes def. Renee Forte via submission (rear-naked choke) - Round 3.
