dude, you obviously don't know me very well. i'm in no way making light of this tragedy, but i do believe in the essential value of "lightening the mood". once you do that, you allow discussion of the topic outside of strict terms and endless condolances.

as for my religion comment. i only added that because after stuff like this happens, all the bible thumpers come out of the woodworks to maket his into a "god loves us all" sort of thing, which totally diminishes the horror of what happened. A piece of shit maniac murdered over 30 people... God had nothing to do with this, pasively or actively. And my comment about higher education... well that comes straight from the mouths of many of this countries politicians and most visible religious leaders. Education is taken to mean heathenism and anti-Christianity. According to most Evangelical Christian Nationalists, Universities are nothing but liberal havens for homosexuals, sodomy and depraved hedonism...

again, this is a horrible, terrible thing, but God and religion have no place in this.
