Anderson beat both Vitor and Sonnen at 185. I don't want to see these guys fighting for the title at an even higher weight.
Say Bisping loses to Belfort. And Anderson beats Weidman. What would we start saying if he started fighting Condit and Johnny Hendricks at 185 after they lose to GSP at 170. What exactly would the outrage level be from the people who don't care for Anderson?
I don't think they beat Jones. But I'd rather he fight Hendo, Gustaf, maybe Machida again before he "supposedly" wants to go to HW at the end of 2013....instead of Chael Sonnen...to me it is a wasted fight. Even more wasted that they will have months of a reality show to get through. Chael had trouble taking Bisping down. ANderson stuffed him twice in the last round they fought. What is his plan vs. Jones?
You may not. But I think Cormier has a decent shot at beating Jones if he can make 205 no problem. He says he can, so I believe him. Jones makes no sense though. He said Chael isn't going to talk his way into a shot...then he lets him. After he says how Cormier isn't going to make a name off him and doesn't deserve a 205 shot. Makes no sense. Just another example of Bones' fakeness and flip flopping mentality.
Rampage, Shogun, Rashad, and Machida are also 205'ers, former champs at that weight and Jones apparently hasn't been tested.
That, or he's just as good as he's looked against four of the best of all time, it's not like they're 36 and broken down, just two years ago they were the four best Light Heavyweights on the planet. Machida and Rashad are still in their primes as clearly evidenced by the way he schooled Phil Davis in every aspect of MMA and Jones beat them, fairly easily.
I don't know how Cormier does at 205, the guy nearly died from cutting weight so him at 205 isn't necessarily something I wanna see, likewise I don't know how well Jones does at Heavyweight, what I do know Jones is the best Light Heavyweight on his planet and his four fight win streak over Shogun, Rampage, Machida, and Rashad is more impressive than Anderson's 16 fight win streak altogether. For different reasons, no one in his weight class stepped up to fight him and now he's fighting Chael, who I love but fully expect to see get slaughtered in April. The UFC needs to get off PPV so we can get the fights like Jon Jones vs. Dan Henderson and they need to make Anderson defend his belt or surrender it.
In 2012, the Featherweight, Welterweight, and Middleweight Titles will have been defended once, the Bantamweight title will have been defended zero times that's half the belts in the UFC that will have only 1 or no title defenses, JDS(for whatever reason) and Jones will have only fought twice. Mighty Mouse just won the belt in September and Ben Henderson and those crooked ass judges that follow him around all across the ******* world will have been in action three times when it's all said and done. These titles being held up for TUF, Anderson wanting to be a politician is an absolute mess. I don't wanna see "super"fights I wanna see these titles and these divisions get a move on.
