I think big names in the Womens MMA world such as Cris Cybrog, Gina Carano, Meisha Tate, etc deserve their fair share of credit as well. They have helped make womens MMA as popular as it is. However, the one women who was able to drive Dana over the edge was Ronda. Womens MMA needed someone with a spark, and charisma that would grab peoples attentions, and didn't have one until Ronda came along. At that point, Dana saw potential in her making the market appealing enough to the casual fan.
