Most such stuff is because of your Display Cards driver. You might be using an old driver not updated one, or you're using the OS's standard driver which won't give you the full capabilities of your system.
Also, upgrade your adobe-flash that is used to show you the flash videos in the browsers themselves.

Windows Vista. It's quite buggy, but it came with the computer. On Google it says it's already updated. What's the next step here...upgrade the driver.

And prior to that you could give Opera a try. As far as I know and have experienced, it's usually more stable than Firefox and Chrome. You can try the portable version
which doesn't install the programm deep in your system.
