This is actually a pretty interesting stylistic match up. I'd say GSP probably has the technical edge in every area, but Benson has that tenacity and aggression going for him.

If people bitch about the size difference between a 170 and a 185'er, what do you say about a 155 vs 170?
Yeah, it's the same 15 pounds but relatively a bigger gap.
This is his way of saying politely you are borderline trolling here.
It is pretty clear from their skillsets and size Bendo has no way to win this fight. At least GSP might be able to outwrestle a bigger Anderson Silva, but what could Bendo do against GSP with a reach and weight disadvantage? Obviously not outwrestling him, and GSP is very effective at striking from distance. No one is talking about it, because we already know how it would go.
I think its too soon to tell. Bendo is still growing as a fighter while gsp is really just polishing his techniques. I think in 2-4 years, this fight would be very interesting but atm, gsp easily.
First, Im sure this is a troll job but anyway I will play along, GSP by any way he wants, GSP would finish this one in the first first if he was able to chase him down..
If this fight came to fruition it wouldn't be called a superfight.
For a fight to be a superfight, both fighters involved would have to be dominant champions & P4P kings for a long time, wich it's not the case for Hendo.
Well Bendo walks around at 180 so it would be better for GSP to fight Bendo instead of Anderson.
The only threat that Bendo could be to GSP is with his heavy leg kicks but thats all.
Bendo is a good wrestler but he had some trouble with Franky's wrestling( small lightweight) so he will not be able to outwrestle GSP.
If Bendo goes ona tear for the next two years and GSP has not lost to anyone except maybe Anderson then I would be interested. Right now Bendo is nowhere near a p4p king.
Is Bendo the most under rated champ currently on the roster? He's beat Frankie Edgar twice, rag dolled Diaz all over the octagon like a dogs chew toy....
GSP is a bad stylistic match up for Bendo, no doubt, but I'd still give him a better chance than most of the other contenders at 170.
To me that isn't a superfight at all. Bendo is 1-2 in UFC title fights in a lot of people's minds. Bendo is explosive, that said he is not a finisher and will be the smaller man. And it isn't like he Bendo would out-wrestle GSP.
GSP would easily win that fight because Henderson has pretty much no advantage anywhere.
Pauly G. Like your out of box thinking. They're box similar except one has a Taekwondo background and the other has Kyukushin Karate background. One small difference; size. Size and strength = game over for Bendo.
The only competitive cross division super fights are the one mentioned and I'll throw in the LHW title holder vs the HW title holder.
I don't think it would even be close, GSP would dominate Henderson he's to big and and strong. GSP's game is over powering his opponents along with his skill set makes him nearly unbeatable especially by a smaller opponent.
I think it would take a superior striker with good enough defensive wrestling to keep it standing. GSP is so dominant because he dictates where the fight takes place.
Ben is being stupidly under rated here. "GSP would toy with him". Nah. People are forgetting that Bendo is also one of the biggest LW's on the roster, the dude is huge and has legs like tree trunks. People are also undermining just how good a fighter Frankie Edgar really is.
Bendo is one of the best scramblers in the game and is virtually impossible to hold down. GSP's top control is excellent, but I think Bensons scrambling ability would aid him back up to his feet, and on the feet, the fight is a lot closer than people would think. I'd give a slight edge maybe to GSP in the striking department, but it's close.
Bendo is a very good fighter, but GSP has beaten better fighters many times. Bendo would be taken down at will if GSP wanted the fight to take place on the ground.
theoretically competitive or not, Bendo just doesn't have the name or clout to have a superfight with anyone, especially against a big name juggernaut like GSP.
I`d like to see it. GSP would finally get a finish.
And in the first round, too!
