Heavyweight.
Alistair Overeem destroys Bigfoot Silva setting up a fight with Cain Velasquez in July, while the build up to Velasquez/Overeem takes place Junior dos Santos is booked to fight Josh Barnett on the Memorial Day weekend show, Daniel Cormier and Frank Mir fight on FOX with Junior and Cormier emerging victorious while Fabricio Werdum retires Minotauro Nogueria. Cormier drops to LHW, while Junior fights Roy Nelson again who also claims victory on the Memorial Day weekend card over Gabriel Gonzaga. Velasquez defeats Overeem and fights Werdum in Mexico setting up Velasquez/dos Santos III in 2014.

Light Heavyweight.
Glover and Rampage fight on FOX with Glover mauling him, a couple of weeks later Machida and Henderson fight with Machida winning. Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen do fight with Jones defeating Sonnen setting up Jones/Gus in August. Machida and Shogun meet for a final time in Brazil with Machida winning a decision again. Meanwhile Glover fights Rashad Evans on Fourth of July weekend and loses. Jon Jones leaves the Light Heavyweight division at the end of the year after defeating Gus in August. A couple of weeks after the belt is vacated the UFC books Machida vs. Evans II on FOX in 2014.

Middleweight.
Vitor Belfort knocks out Michael Bisping in the first round, eliminating him from title contention, Luke Rockhold vs. Hector Lombard is then booked for the 4/20 FOX card in San Jose with Rockhold winning a decision. Jacare meanwhile enters the UFC and destroys Costa Phillipou while Yushin Okami defeats Vitor Belfort in the summer. Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman fight in the summer with Weidman winning a controversial decision. MMA is legalized in New York and Weidman vs. Silva headlines with Weidman choking Silva unconcious in the Garden. Chris Weidman's second title defense comes against Jacare in early 2014.

Welterweight.
Georges St. Pierre destroys Nick Diaz setting up his next title defense in September in Toronto, Jake Ellenberger however knocks Johny Hendricks out early in the first and Carlos Condit defeats Rory MacDonald by split decision. GSP vs. Nate Marquardt is booked in September while Jon Fitch vs. Carlos Condit is booked in the summer, Jake Ellenberger/Josh Koscheck is also booked, meanwhile Thiago Alves returns and destroys Siyar Bahadurzada in Brazil.

Lightweight.
Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone engage in a three round FOTY candidate with Pettis winning while Eddie Alvarez signs with the UFC and fights Jim Miller, Alvarez wins a close split decision. Ben Henderson and Gilbert Melendez meet on FOX in San Jose where Ben Henderson wins. Henderson and Pettis then meet later in the year in Phoenix once again, Pettis defeats him with a UD of 48-47 across the board.

Featherweight.
Frankie Edgar defeats Jose Aldo by a controversial split decision, the two rematch in the summer where Edgar wins a dominant UD, Aldo moves up to Lightweight and Edgar meets the Korean Zombie later in the year.

Bantamweight.
Renan Barao defeats Michael McDonald and Eddie Wineland, Dominick Cruz returns for the final card of the year and he and Barao fight with Cruz looking better than ever and winning FOTY, Comeback of the Year, and becomes the Undisputed BW Champ. Cruz fights Faber in 2014 for a third and final time.

Flyweight.
John Dodson defeats Demetrious Johnson by KO and fights John Moroga on FX, Joseph Benavidez KO's Ian McCall and Dodson and Benavidez meet late in the year.

Women's Bantamweight.
Ronda Rousey defeats Liz Carmouche by armbar, Cyborg is signed and Rousey/Cyborg happens in the Summer. Cyborg defeats Rousey but is busted for a diuretic. Cyborg is cut and Rousey fights Sara McMann for the vacant title but loses to McMann and leaves the sport.
