VTech Massacre: should there be less more more gun control?

Ok this is really for Americans, because i think canadians here would all agree that more gun control would of helped prevent those horrible incidents.

The day it happened, i was really stunned to see that a gun lobbist was blaming this on gun control policy(which are very low in Virginia). He said that not being allowed to bring guns(for ur own safety) in school was something that helped the killer get so many people(32).

Now, this is not what shocked me(well it did a bit..). What shocked me was that people aggreed with it!!

Then i thought about it, and i realised that this could be debatable.. Im obviously against it.. but I would like hear from people who wants to be allowed to have guns in general.. In my head it doesnt make sense, so i cant understand that point of view.. can somebody explain?
