pre interim champion Condit would have had my support over Hendricks, but he lost a lot of my respect when he decided to sit on the shelf and wait for the payday, now I really just want to see him get knocked the **** out

Who's calling him a power puncher? No, he doesn't hit as hard as Hendricks. But it's silly to claim that he doesn't hit hard period. One punch floored Dan Hardy and one punch put Rory on his arse. There's differing degrees of power. Condit's might not be as insane as Big Rig's but he's still a hard hitter.
From the post about trading left hooks with Condit, it was implied that Hendricks won't be able to match Condit with punching power (or at least that's how I interpreted the post), no?
I never said Condit doesn't hit hard, of course he hits hard, that's why he has a bunch of KO/TKO's on his record, but to think he has the same kind of freakish power Hendricks possesses is just being naive. He doesn't hit any where near as hard as Hendricks, he has that freaksh kind of power only few fighters posses.
Also when did Condit put Rory on his ass with a punch? I don't ever remember that. I remembered Condit scoring a take down in a scramble with Rory and then busting Rory up bad with GNP from the top positions, I didn't ever recall Condit dropping Rory.
I don't recall anyone saying/implying that Condit's power matches Johny's, but if that's the case then fair play. I'd agree with you that Hendricks has the edge there. I think he just meant that it would be silly to stand and trade with Condit ala Dan Hardy, which is true. It's needlessly dangerous. Hendricks would actually be wise to mix in some wrestling against someone like Carlos.
I'll have to watch Condit vs. Rory again, as it's been a while. Did he not wobble Rory badly, score the takedown, and finish the fight from there? Like I said, I'll have to rewatch the fight as I could be making things up, lol.
Condit doesn't exactly have the greatest chin this isn't a safe fight for him. Ellenberger gave Condit all he could handle on short notice and Hendricks is a similar fighter.
Hendricks is like WW Hendo to me style-wise...odd they both start with Hend? Nasty power and great wrestling/base.
This is Carlos's fight to lose, I think he can out-point his way to a win but he loves to scrap also which is why he has so many fans but if he does trade it's just a matter of time before he goes out. Would be very surprised to see Carlos get an early TKO in this one.
Overall though I'm glad both are stepping up for this fight, very tough and a loss for either is a huge set-back.
I'm rooting for Hendricks, I like him as a fighter minus the fact that he's beat a few of my favourites.
This is a tough fight for him. Condit is much better in the striking department, his footwork is great, and he is unpredictable. I think Johny needs to really mix it up in this fight.
How can punching power can be discussed without proper measurament methods, guys. This discussion is so recurrent. Vast majority of fighters can KO somebody with the perfect shot. Speed and precision can emulate raw power sometimes, but to know for sure who actually hits harder requires a computer sensored bag to measure the peak load.
Didn't realise my post about trading left hooks would get so much coverage. I didn't imply that Condit had more KO power than Jonny.
I was trying to allude to the fact that if Hendricks wants to stand and throw left hooks for 15 minutes he could very well end up on the canvas with his title shot going out the window.
This fight is gonna be so kick ass! I like it even more than Rory vs. Condit! Rarely does as injury create a better fight but I think in this situation that is exactly what happened.
I got Condit taking this but man I can see a storms a brewin!
