It's part of being a fighter, that's true, but they should also be prevented as best they can. Any kind of injury, whether it's a sprain or a broken bone or a cauliflower should try to be prevented in training.
I usually drain and tape them when the guys I train with get them. It's the easiest way to train through it, that I know of.
