Round 1 - Herb Dean draws the main event between Evans, a former UFC champ, and Henderson, a former PRIDE champ. Good staredown, and a glove touch, and we're ready to go. They touch again in the middle. Left jab from Evans is the first strike of the fight. But Henderson comes in and looks to land a pair of rights, only to be answered by Evans. Left hand from Evans pushes Henderson back, and he backs away from Henderson's counter. Good combination from Evans with a pair of rights and a left. Henderson tries a couple left jabs. Henderson wants the right, of course, but it's not on point yet. Evans thinks about a takedown midway through, but it won't be there right away. The two tie up, and it's Evans who tries to land a right on the break. Again they tie up briefly, and then again. But not for long. Henderson tries to close and land inside, but Evans stays out of harm's way And then out of nowhere, a Henderson jab hurts Evans. Evans hits the turf and Henderson moves in. Looks like Evans is hurt. Henderson lands a few shots, but Evans survives it and they go back to the middle. That flurry from Henderson that had Evans hurt was just enough to give him a 10-9 round on the MMAjunkie.com card.

Round 2 - Henderson wants to come forward, but Evans follows his corner's between-round advice and lands a good takedown. Henderson is back up quickly, but Evans has him tied up and looking to land shots at close range. They stay tied up, and Evans lands some good right hands. But Henderson fires back with a knee and an uppercut. Henderson tries to push forward, but Evans staying out of the way. They exchange and clinch up with 2:30 left. Evans lands a right on the break. Stiff left jab for Evans in the middle. Takedown attempt for Evans is stuffed, and with a minute left in the round they'll stay in the middle. Good combination for Evans with 30 seconds left, and Henderson then lands a couple shots and they smile each other down to end the frame. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Evans.

Round 3 - Henderson tries to push forward faking left, but it's not there. Evans lands a right hand and he flurries and lands another and puts him on a knee. But Henderson pops back up as Evans backs off a bit. Henderson lands a hook, and Evans counters with a jab. Henderson fakes a shot to one knee. With three minutes left, Evans drops down for a single. But Henderson keeps on his feet and they tie up along the cage. Evans lands some good body shots there, but Henderson lands to the body with knees. Evans lands some more body shots, then lets Henderson back out to the middle. Evans with a nice left jab. Henderson wants his famous "H Bomb," but it's not there. They tie up again, and Henderson lands a knee to the body. A Henderson elbow is on the mark. With 20 seconds left, they'll break and throw a few big ones. But they go all 15 minutes. MMAjunkie.com scores the last for Evans 10-9 and the fight for him 29-28. Rashad Evans def. Dan Henderson via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
