I was on the Oliveira hype train initially but he definitely hasn't lived up to it. He seems to fold instantly whenever he gets in trouble. I hope he wins but I expect Edgar to thoroughly box him up.
This fight is stupid though and a waste of time. Just give Edgar a win and do a different fight. Are they going to try and push this as the co-main? That is pathetic.
Flyweights lose in title shots and they don't even make FX prelims. They get sent to facebook.
This fight makes no sense. They should have gave Edgar someone different instead of hurting Oliveira even more. If Frankie loses this fight he might as well retire
Frankie will get rocked at some point and generally be losing all the power exchanges but he'll show a lot of heart and move around just enough so that when the decision is read people can complain either way.
I want it to be competitive but I can't see it unless Charles gets on top and can somehow keep Frankie down... which I can't see happening because I haven't seen it happen lately.
This should be an easy win for Edgar. Oliveira has folded against lesser fighters. What he has going for him is that he is young and can learn to face adversity better, and Edgar is more of a points fighter. He can hit hard, don't get me wrong, but he's more of a points guy.
That being said, it should be a comfortable win for Edgar.
I'd say Edgar wins 30-27 in a comfortable decision by using his movement and footwork to outbox Oliveira. Edgar is just a level higher than Oliveira as a fighter, Charles isn't elite (yet).
If Edgar doesn't look impressive in this fight he's pretty much worthless to me as a fighter.
Do Bronx isn't bad though....
