UFC on FOX 8: Liz Carmouche vs Jessica Andrade

Round 1 - Carmouche looks strong early, as she moves forward aggressively and avoids a right hand before pressing into a clinch. She elevates Andrade and moves into side control. Andrade quickly rolls to her knees and climbs up to her feet. Carmouche stays tight against the cage. Andrade circles off, but Carmouche quickly puts her back on the fence. Andrade punches the body as she defends agains the fence, but Carmouche drops a level and drags the action to the floor. Carmouche moves to side control as Andrade tries to use the cage to push off the cage. Andrade flashes her power by getting underneath and landing a powerful slam before looking for a guillotine choke and settling into guard. Andrade refuses to let go of the choke as she works from full guard. Referee Herb Dean watches as the time ticks off. Round ends in that position. MMAjunkie.com sees the first for Andrade, 10-9.

Round 2 - Carmouche fires two kicks to open, but Andrade walks through them. As she presses in, Carmouche slips under and scores a powerful takedown. Carmouche passes quickly to side control and then mount. Andrade rolls as Carmouche punches. Carmouche gets to the back and drives in a few punches and elbows as she tries to open up the submission. Andrade turns as Carmouche gets in the choke. She surives, but Carmouche again in mount. Andrade turns again, and Carmouche bangs away with elbows from the back. Credit Andrade for heart, and she turns again. Two minutes remain. Carmouche has passes the left arm now, leaving Andrade almost defenseless. Andrade rolls again.
