Round 1 - McGee comes forward early and lands a kick. He rushes forward and pushes Whittaker to the cage, but they break apart. McGee lands some rights, then a high kick is just off the mark. A left counter from Whittaker lands as McGee kicks to the body. Good kick to the lead leg by McGee. Whittaker mostly counter-punching right now. McGee thinks about a shot, but then eats a left hand. A punch and kick combo from McGee is pretty solid, and righta fter that he goes inside for a takedown that he nearly finishes. McGee is cut near his hairline and bleeding down the left side of his face. It's close, and McGee didn't do a ton of damage, but he was more active and he'll sneak in a 10-9 first round on the card.

Round 2 - McGee lands a good right hand a minute in, and Whittaker drops to his knees. McGee tries to capitalize and stays right on Whittaker, keeping the pressure. An elbow along the face is good from McGee. He bullies Whittaker to the floor, then nearly takes his back before Whittaker pops back up. McGee is bringing all kinds of different strikes – side kicks, front kicks, elbows, then mixing in takedown attempts, and he's keeping Whittaker very much unsure of what to do. He lets his jab get through a couple times, and then another elbow. McGee has a seond cut on his face – he's the more active fighter by far, it seems, but Whittaker is trying to make the stuff he lands really count. A nice duck and left uppercut from Whittaker is on the mark, followed by a left jab. A kick to the head just misses for him, and he lands a knee at the horn, as well. Whittaker takes the second on damage, 10-9 on the Junkie card.

Round 3 - Fight could be hanging in the balance here in the third. Whittaker looks to land that right elbow again as he looks like he's got his range. A spinning back kick from McGee lands to the body and backs Whittaker up. Then he catches Whittaker off-balance and has him slipping. Whittaker lands a good three-punch combination. With three minutes left, McGee probably needs to get back to what he was landing in the first. But Whittaker lands some good left hooks. Whittaker sprawls out of a McGee shot. Spinning kick is telegraphed by McGee and Whittaker easily dodges it. Left hand is good once again from Whittaker. McGee keeps the pressure coming though, and as the one-minute mark hits, the crowd cheers him on. He gets inside and lands some more. He's not doing tons of damage, but the amount of strikes he landed has been impressive. McGee gets the third, 10-9, and thinks he gets the fight, 29-28.

Result: Court McGee def. Robert Whittaker via split decision (30-27, 27-30, 29-28)
