There are some japanese/chinese characters that can be read by people who speak either language.
yes there are, but japanese and chinese languages are funamentally different. It's merely contextual that japanese language uses chinese characters (but not only, they also have their own characters which are derivative/simplified versions of chinese characters but used for pronunciation and words variations rather than their meaning)
Chinese writing was anything but fit for japanese language, but they managed to make it work anyways. as far as I know, Chinese and Japanese are not even from the same ethnic group and Japanese are closer to turkish, korean and mongols than they are to chinese.
Cung Le may be a coach, but I have no clue who they'll put against him, he basically has no chinese competition at his weight class.
