Round 2 - Brief delay to clear some ice from Alcantara's corner. Araujo pushes in and looks for a takedown. It's telegraphed and stuffed, but he pops up and lands a few crisp punches up top. Alcantara backs away, and Araujo again just rushes forward for a takedown. It's not pretty, but he gets the action down and teases an omo plata into a gogo plata. It's briefly tight, but Alcantara pulls free and backs away. Araujo decides to stay on the floor, and Alcantara goes back in to engage. He feels the danger and stands again. This time Araujo does follow. Araujo leaps forward with strikes, and Alcantara slips under and takes him down. Araujo transitions over to the top and again looks for a submission. Nothing immediately available, so he elects to fire short punches, as well. Pace to the fight gets more boos from the crowd, but Araujo is racking up some valuable top time. Round 3 - Araujo was slumped in the cage in his corner. Will he have anything left? He does walk forward and look to strike. He drops down for a takedown. Alcantara defends it, but a wily Araujo throws strikes, drops down again and gets the fight to the floor. Alcantara needs to get up if he wants to win. Instead, he looks for Araujo's left leg. Alcantara cranking, but Araujo stands and works the leg free before settling back down on top. Goddard in again to call for action. It's a very slow pace. Araujo throws some short punches from the top as Alcantara again looks for the leg. Araujo sits back and chuckles at the attempt. He throws some punches as the crowd boos. He stands, and Alcantara again wants the heel. Araujo pulls free and punches until the bell. It's not pretty, but it's a win.
