Through 10 fights in the UFC he has zero TKO or KO finishes. No GnP ref stops. He has no power in his hands, and his striking is still below average. He's athletic, but no more than Rashad or Bones. He is a great collegiate wrestler. But not exactly a great MMA wrestler. His cardio is solid, but nothing that stands out. His chin I guess has held up well enough.

His sub game is very overrated. He caught a GREEN Gustaf who was basically a kickboxer at the time. It was during a scramble at the very end of the round. He found Boetsch's arm pinned behind his back and cranked. He sub'd Prado, a can. He is a blanket wrestler who if he struggles getting it to the ground, he stays at range and basically only throws headkicks and bad punches. His style is fairly goofy. The fact that he is so afraid to be in the pocket. And only knows how to throw a decent headkick, really hurts his wrestling ability. To some he has really improved his striking. To me he maybe has slightly. But it was SOOOO bad that it will take much more time than this. He has no concept of boxing.
I don't know if I would call Phil's sub game overrated, I think it as about on the level of Jon Jones. They are just athletic wrestlers with good leverage. I agree Gus is much better though then we he first fought Phil.
