Round 1 – Elliott hanging his hands low as he walks forward. Bagautinov retreating early, and he lands a nice right hand. Elliott continues to press, crouching against the smaller opponent. He moves inside, and Bagautinov just misses a big uppercut as he pushes away. Elliott misses a lumbering high kick. Bagautinov certainly the faster man to start. Bagautinov lands a right and a nice knee, but Elliott keeps coming. Elliott the aggressor, but he’s struggling to track his opponent down. Bagautinov trips and looks at the fence, and Elliott rushes in. Bagautinov turns him to the floor but doesn’t keep top position. Bagautinov with nice head movement and another right hand. Bagautinov pushes forward, and Elliott tries to grab the neck. No luck. Bagautinov scores again before the bell, and he takes the first on the MMAjunkie card, 10-9.

Round 2 – Elliott again moves forward, and he just slips a massive uppercut. Bagautinov happy to stay on the outside and counter.His quickness is helping him do exactly that. Elliott kicks the body. Elliott scores a knee, and Bagautinov pushes forward. As he does, Elliott grabs the neck and falls into a guillotine. Bagautinov has one arm trapped, and this could be trouble. However, he postures and shakes and eventually pulls away. Still, Elliott alertly scrambles and gets into top position. Bagautinov doesn’t stay there, scrambling up to his feet and going back to the lateral movement. Elliott eats a right hand. Elliott working a long jab. Bagautinov answering with crisp right hands. Elliott continues to walk forward. This round is tighter, and it could help him. He shoots in, but Bagautinov pushes him down and then scrambles away when Elliott looks to attack from the bottom. Nice left from Bagautinov, who’s still moving well. Round ends on the feet. Better work from Elliott, but MMAjunkie leans toward Bagautinov, 10-9. Very close.

Round 3 – Bagautinov throwing to start the final round. He lands early. Elliott continues to walk forward, but he eats a knee to the body. Elliott has the center of the cage, but he’s not landing with nearly as much power. Left hand for Bagautinov and a kick to the body. Elliott kicking the legs, but Bagautinov is just blasting away with heavy punches. The lead right landing, as is the left overhand follow. Final 90 seconds. Elliot wants a takedown but can’t get it. Elliott reaching, and Bagautinov makes him pay. Slapping high kick for Bagautinov. He takes a deep breath and looks up at the clock. Elliott with a smooth trip to close and a big knee as they crawl back to the feet, but MMAjunkie gives it to Bagautinov, 10-9 and 30-27. Second round was close, so 29-28 scores would not surprise.

Result: Ali Bagautinov def. Tim Elliott via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
