I have done a lot of fitness modeling and know from experience that long term incorrect dieting can have negative effects on your metabolism. Anything from fat gain, slow fat loss, muscle loss and/or no energy/strength. It took me a long time to figure out how my body worked and what would rip me up.
So yes - you can ruin your metabolism by eating x2 a day. Some people I am sure can get away with it but I cannot and neither can any of my training partners.
